Trans Oil Refinery |

The Trans Oil Refinery oil crushing facility is located in Ceadîr-Lunga. Capitalizing on the site of an existing grain storage facility in the area, Trans-Oil completed a major construction project in April 2010, establishing a state-of-the-art facility with multifunctional capabilities to process sunflower seeds, soybeans, and rapeseeds. The daily capacity of the plant is 450 tons. Produced oil and meal is in high demand in several neighboring countries, including Turkey, Greece, and Romania. |
Trans Cargo Terminal |
|---|
Traditionally, Moldova had been a country without access to international commercial seaways. In 2000 the government of Moldova signed a treaty with Ukraine that resulted in a territorial gain along the shores of the Prut and Danube Rivers. In 2005, Trans-Oil’s Department of Logistics initiated a plan to build a grain terminal, utilizing 50 kilometers of new railway. It was not possible to connect the Giurgiulești harbor with the country’s railway system, eliminating the need to transport goods through Ukraine.
The commercial benefits of a grain terminal were obvious. A new terminal building, able to store up to 50,000 tons of cereals and facilitate the loading of ships with the capacity of 300 cubic meters per hour, has enabled the Trans Cargo Terminal to be the largest and most modern grain export facility on the Danube River.
Annual turnover is approximately 250,000 tons of grain. In the case of weak harvesting, which happens once in four years, this terminal can be used as a strategic point of import, thus making it possible to ensure the necessary quantity of grain for the country. |
